The film, ‘Straight Outta Compton” reminds us that we can give birth to dreams in the unlikeliest of places. While gun violence, police brutality and racial profiling may not plague us, all of us know what it is to be in a place where our dreams seem impossible, unreachable, and unrealistic. In this week’s podcast I use the Valley of Dry Bones to speak life back into your dreams and let you know that wherever your dreams are stuck, you can come Straight Outta’ that place.

Episode 017: Have You Been Faithful?

By Dr. Shante Bishop | August 12, 2015

The New Chicago

Chicago is known for a great many things: Al Capone, incredible architecture, the 1985 Bears, corrupt politicians, and amazing food. However, in the past two years, murder rates in the city have reached such alarming levels, that noted filmmaker, Spike Lee, visited this summer to film CHIRAQ, likening Chicago to the blood fields of Iraq.

With such a dark cloud looming overhead, I was especially grateful to see a silver lining shining through the darkness, in a group of Millennials that call themselves, The New Chicago. They were my special guests for this podcast. Tune in to hear about the change they’re ushering into the city, and a challenging message that questions our fidelity (faithfulness) to our assets.

Episode 013: Knowing and Growing in Your Season

By Dr. Shante Bishop | July 15, 2015

Season

When you try to eat or harvest fruit out of season, the results are disappointing to say the least. The same can be said of brand building. Building a brand is a deliberate process of planting, cultivating, WAITING, and harvesting when the time is right. When we try to accelerate the results, we run the risk of being disappointed, disenchanted, or worse… disengaging from the process.

In this episode learn when to plant, and when to know when it’s your season to reap the fruit of your labors.
